RideStream Licensing & 15-Day Free Trial
RideStream operates under a fair, transparent licensing model. Try all premium local streaming features for 15 days, then unlock permanent host mode with a single one-time purchase.
15-Day Free Trial Overview
When you install RideStream on Windows or Android, a 15-day free trial activates automatically. During the trial period, all features — local playback, mixed playlists, background playback, adaptive streaming, and Wi-Fi Host Mode — are 100% unlocked.
Feature Comparison Matrix
| Feature | 15-Day Free Trial | Unlocked License |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | 15 Days | Permanent |
| Local Audio & Video Playback | Yes | Yes |
| Mixed Audio/Video Playlists | Yes | Yes |
| Wi-Fi Host Mode (Server) | Yes (15 days) | Yes (Permanent) |
| Receiver Mode (Connect to Host) | Yes | Yes |

What Happens When the Trial Expires?
When the 15-day trial period ends, RideStream limits host streaming capabilities unless an unlock is purchased:
❌ Requires Unlock
- Hosting media server streams over Wi-Fi
- Auto Host background streaming
✅ Always Remains Free
- Receiver Mode (Connecting to an unlocked host)
- Browsing local media and managing playlists
💡 Shared Household / Family Privilege
You only need to purchase the unlock on your primary Host device (such as your Windows PC). All secondary Android phones, tablets, or laptops in your home can connect as Receivers for free, even if their own 15-day trial has expired!
How to Unlock RideStream
- On Android, open RideStream and purchase the unlock via Google Play Store in-app purchase.
- On Windows 10/11, purchase the unlock via the Microsoft Store.
- The unlock is linked to your Google Account or Microsoft Account permanently.
