Step-by-Step Assistant: Setting Up Bluetooth Audio

Pair your Receiver Phone to your Bluetooth Audio System:
Turn on Bluetooth on your Android phone and pair it with your car stereo, soundbar, or Bluetooth receiver in Android Bluetooth settings.

Connect to Host PC over Wi-Fi:
Open RideStream on your phone, tap the Cast Icon 📡, select Receiver Mode, and pick your PC host server.

Enable Audio Normalization:
In RideStream settings, make sure Audio Normalization is enabled to avoid sudden volume spikes when switching between songs.

Start Playback:
Select any mixed playlist from the server. Music plays through your Bluetooth speakers, and track info metadata is displayed on your car stereo dashboard.
Steering Wheel & Media Button Support (AVRCP)
RideStream integrates with Android's MediaSession framework. You can press Next Track ⏭️, Previous Track ⏮️, or Play/Pause ⏯️ directly from your car's steering wheel buttons or Bluetooth headphones to control the stream queue.

Ensure your car stereo supports Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4 or higher. Re-pair your phone in car Bluetooth settings and select "Media Audio" permissions.
❓ Audio Mutes When GPS Navigation Speaks?
RideStream respects Android audio focus standards. When Google Maps or Waze gives a voice direction, RideStream automatically lowers (ducks) the music volume and restores it smoothly when navigation finishes.
